ABOUT LSA ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES PLANNING |

Triangle Rock
LSA has been continuously involved in this Sacramento County aggregate mining project since 1994. LSA conducted a wetland/jurisdictional delineation and sensitive species surveys and prepared a biological resources report and habitat mitigation plan that were incorporated into the County Environmental Impact Report. Our role also included developing permitting strategies and assistance in processing approvals through the Corps of Engineers and California Department of Fish and Game, as well as endangered species processing through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for threatened and endangered fairy and tadpole shrimp. LSA implemented on-site mitigation programs for vernal pools, freshwater marsh, burrowing owls, and tricolored blackbirds. LSA also developed a grazing program for the mitigation areas and is currently monitoring the mitigation areas. After five years, all performance standards were met. LSA is currently assisting Triangle Rock with a proposed 100-acre expansion of the mine site to accommodate 10 years of additional mining. The expansion involves all of the same activities described above for the original project.
