North Stockton I-5 Corridor Improvement Project Technical Studies

Location: Stockton, California

North Stockton I-5 Corridor Improvement Project

LSA is preparing the technical studies and environmental documents for the I-5 North Stockton Corridor Improvement Project. Two new interchanges and the reconstruction of two others are proposed, along with other improvements. LSA is preparing technical studies in accordance with Caltrans, including a Noise Study Report. The Noise Study Report analyzes impacts of this project on noise sensitive receptors in the project vicinity. One long-term noise measurement and 18 short-term noise levels were measured at representative locations to document the existing noise environment. Implementation of the proposed project would result in potential short-term noise impacts during construction and long-term noise impacts from project operation. Of the 189 receptor locations modeled in the project area, 129 receptors would approach or exceed the Noise Abatement Criteria under future 2035 build traffic conditions. Noise abatement measures were evaluated for all receptors that would be exposed to traffic noise, including the project’s proposed sound walls.
