Mountain View General Plan Update EIR
Client: City of Mountain View
Location: Mountain View, California
With slightly more than 70,000 citizens, the City of Mountain View is located in the heart of Silicon Valley, between the Santa Cruz Mountains and San Francisco Bay. In 2008, the City embarked on its 2030 General Plan Update, a process that will help guide future growth. In tandem with the General Plan Update, the City Council approved goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions within the City and, to implement the goals, asked for development of a Greenhouse Gas Reduction Program (GGRP). LSA is assisting the City with the preparation of the General Plan Update, a Housing Element Initial Study/Negative Declaration, and a comprehensive Environmental Impact Report on the General Plan and GGRP. LSA is contributing to the General Plan document with the initial preparation of the current environmental conditions report, the noise element, and General Plan consultation. To date, LSA has prepared baseline reports for air quality, noise, global climate change, biology, cultural resources, public services, visual resources, and energy. LSA’s primary responsibility is to evaluate the Draft General Plan and GGRP and prepare the Draft Environmental Impact Report, the Response to Comments document, and the MMRP.
