Long Beach Boulevard Specific Plan

Location: Lynwood, Los Angeles County, California

LSA prepared a Specific Plan for Long Beach Boulevard in the City of Lynwood, applying principles of Transit-Oriented Development in the context of the existing urban core in the City. The existing built form is not well maintained and is under pressure of real-estate retail market for reuse. This has spurred the City to prepare a Specific Plan that applies Transit-Oriented Development principles and standards along with architectural and landscape design guidelines to guide the design of new projects along the Boulevard.

The Specific Plan provides the City with the tools to achieve a high quality, aesthetically attractive urban commercial/residential area with an identifiable theme and development criteria for transit oriented developments. The final product acts as a clear guide for improvements on Long Beach Boulevard between Orchard Avenue and Tweedy Boulevard in the City of Lynwood.
