Client: West Coast Aggregates, Inc.
Location: Los Gatos, California
LSA is assisting West Coast Aggregates, Inc. in renewing and expanding the mining permit for their operation near the Lexington Reservoir in Los Gatos, California. The 54.3 acre site is situated in a very narrow canyon bisected by a creek, which results in a compact and tightly arranged site layout. LSA manages a team of consultants, including engineers, geotechnical engineers, and hydrologists, to ensure that every aspect is addressed to the highest level of expertise of each associated profession. Lexington Quarry’s confined site conditions require that the team carefully address and evaluate all of their recommendations to ensure that all the necessary mining activities and environmental provisions can be accommodated on site. LSA prepared the Mining and Reclamation Plan, Storm Water Monitoring Program, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan, Sediment and Erosion Control Plan, and reclamation cost estimate for this site. LSA also oversees the preparation of all compliance documents for the quarry such as: water quality and air quality; County inspections; OMR’s annual mining operator reports; and reclamation cost estimates. LSA also conducts ongoing monitoring inspections for storm water, revegetation, and weed and erosion control.
