Geysers Recharge Project
Client: City of Santa Rosa
Location: Sonoma County, California

Geysers Recharge Biological Resources Assessment

LSA provided environmental consulting services for botany, wildlife, wetlands, cultural resources, and paleontology for the 41-mile pipeline across Sonoma County. During the preconstruction phase, LSA surveyed all alignment alternatives for sensitive resources according to agency protocols, prepared technical assessment reports, and negotiated permits with CDFG, USFWS, Corps, RWQCB, SHPO, NMFS, SWRCB, and Sonoma County for the affected resources.

LSA prepared sections for the Supplemental and Addendum EIRs. Working with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, planners, and other experts, LSA provided input on project design. LSA served as liaison with the local Audubon Society and California Native Plant Society.

During the construction phase of the project, LSA biologists conducted pre-construction surveys. LSA analyzed construction variance requests for compliance with permit conditions. LSA coordinated project changes with the resource agencies. LSA biological and cultural resources field monitors oversaw construction compliance. Currently, LSA is monitoring the success of the revegetation effort and devising restoration and enhancement plans for the mitigation of effects to rare plants.
