Baseball Village Environmental Impact Report
LSA is preparing a comprehensive Environmental Impact Report for the proposed Fremont Baseball Village Community Plan. The centerpiece of this new neighborhood would be the 34,000-seat stadium known as Cisco Field, future home of the Oakland A's. In addition to the stadium, plans include approximately 3,000 residential units, 650,000 square feet of entertainment and commercial uses, a hotel, a K-8 school, and park and trail systems. The Baseball Village is proposed to be constructed on a 260-acre site in the City of Fremont, to the west of I-880 and to the north and east of the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay Wildlife Refuge. LSA will prepare the majority of the environmental analyses and manage a multi-disciplinary team that includes Hexagon Transportation Consultants (traffic), Baseline Environmental Consultants (geology, stormwater and hazards), Environmental Vision (computer simulations), Carlson, Barbee & Gibson (utilities), and M-E Engineers, Inc. (lighting). The environmental review process, expected to progress over an 18-month period, provides numerous opportunities for public input as the City of Fremont processes one of the largest and most visible development projects in its history.
