LSA is responsible for implementing and monitoring habitat mitigation in more than 1,200 acres of open space associated with the Stonebrae County Club residential development and golf course. Mitigation includes pond construction and enhancement to provide habitat for California red-legged frog. In compliance with the project’s Storm Water Management Plan, LSA implements an ongoing water quality monitoring program in ponds near the golf course to measure standard water quality parameters (i.e., turbidity, dissolved oxygen, pH) and to detect chemicals typically found in urban and golf course runoff that might be deleterious to amphibians. LSA measures the standard parameters in the field using portable water quality meters and collects grab samples that are transported off site to a certified environmental laboratory for chemical analysis. LSA also conducts nuisance flow monitoring in tributaries located downstream of the development.
