EDF Renewable Energy Proposed Solar Facility Development Projects

Photo showing Location of Proposed Solar Facility

EDF Renewable Energy proposed to build a series of solar arrays in the Central Valley. LSA conducted cultural resources assessments for each site to assist environmental permitting and review for each component. LSA's tasks included archival and background research, field studies, archaeological survey, and contacts with Native Americans and historical societies. An archaeological assessment report was written for each proposed solar array site. These studies and reports were done to comply with CEQA and to serve as a foundation for compliance with federal statutes, including Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. Project sites included various locations in Tulare, Kings, Kern, Madera, Merced, and Fresno Counties.

Specific projects included six sites in Kern County, three sites in both Tulare and  Madera Counties, two sites in both Kings and Merced Counties, and one site in Fresno County.
