LSA has been continuously involved in this Sacramento County aggregate mining project since 1994. In addition to assisting with endangered species permitting, LSA prepared detailed vernal pool and riparian habitat restoration plans to satisfy agency mitigation requirements. LSA also prepared construction plans and specifications as well as oversight of the vernal pool construction and riparian planting in 2002.
For the past nine years, LSA has monitored the development of the mitigation sites, collecting quantitative and qualitative data at regular intervals, and monitoring maintenance activities. When necessary, LSA has recommended remedial measures to correct deficiencies. LSA is currently completing the 9th year of monitoring, and the mitigation sites are meeting or are on track to meet the required performance standards.
