LSA was retained to prepare an air quality impact analysis and a noise study for the I-215 bi-county HOV lane gap closure project located in the Cities of Riverside, Grand Terrace, Colton and Counties of Riverside and San Bernardino, California. Greenhouse gases and potential air quality impacts were analyzed in the air quality impact report along with the recommended mitigation measures. The noise study identified potential noise impacts and evaluated noise abatement measures. Caltrans, in cooperation with the San Bernardino Associated Governments and the Riverside County Transportation Commission, proposes to construct an HOV lane in each direction on I-215 in Riverside County, from south of the I-215/SR-60/SR-91 interchange to north of the I-215/I-10 interchange in San Bernardino County, ending at the Orange Show Road interchange. The purpose of the project is to close the gap between carpool lanes being built north of Orange Show Road in San Bernardino and south of the SR-60/SR-91/I-215 interchange in Riverside.
