Located in Richmond, California, the Richmond Quarry, operated by Dutra Materials, covers about 126 acres. Adjacent to the quarry is a tank farm owned and operated by the Chevron Energy and Technology Company. LSA provides compliance services to Dutra Materials and is preparing the Reclamation Plan to resolve revegetation and slope stability concerns raised by the lead agency, the State Mining and Geology Board (SMGB). Together, LSA and the geotechnical consultant have proposed several alternative solutions to SMGB, the Office of Mine Reclamation, and Chevron. Upon approval of a preferred alternative, LSA will prepare a Reclamation Plan that incorporates the alternative that thoroughly addresses slope stability and includes grading, erosion control, drainage, revegetation, irrigation, and monitoring plans. LSA also prepares the required mining annual reports and the annual Financial Assurance Cost Estimate and conducts ongoing revegetation monitoring, weed, and erosion control inspections.
