Lexington Quarry is situated in a narrow canyon bisected by a creek, resulting in a compact, tightly arranged site layout. LSA assisted West Coast Aggregates, Inc. with renewing and expanding the permit for the aggregate mining operation. LSA managed a team of technical consultants, including civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, and hydrologists, to ensure that all issues were thoroughly and expertly addressed. Lexington Quarry’s confined site conditions and its proximity to residential uses required the team to carefully address and evaluate all recommendations to ensure that all the necessary mining activities, mitigation measures, and conditions of approval could be accommodated. LSA prepared the Mining and Reclamation Plan, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, Storm Water Monitoring Program, Hazardous Materials Business Plan, Sediment and Erosion Control Plan, and annual Financial Assurance Cost Estimates. LSA prepares other compliance documents for the quarry, such as air quality permits, hazardous materials storage tank permits, Office of Mine Reclamation annual mining operator reports, annual reclamation plan monitoring reports, and annual storm water reports.
