LSA, as contract planning staff for the Town of Colma, was involved in the entitlement processing, environmental review, and design of the $7 million Colma Police Facility. The design was a challenge due to the unusual shape, relatively small size, and topography of the site. In addition, the Bay Area Rapid Transit system traversed the site through a tunnel under the property, which required specific vertical and horizontal setbacks. LSA planners worked with the Town to ensure that the new facility included Spanish Mediterranean elements, consistent with the existing architectural style found throughout the Town. In addition to the exterior building design and shepherding the property aggregation, LSA prepared the landscaping and irrigation plans and monument signage.
