This position requires a working knowledge of traffic engineering concepts related to freeway, roadway and intersection operation and design, signing and striping, and traffic signal plans. Typical assignments include preparation and review of traffic impact analyses for public and private development projects, operational analyses for freeway, roadway and intersection improvement projects, and traffic control and signal plans. The position requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in traffic engineering, transportation planning, urban planning, or a related field. The candidate must be a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with 5 to 7 years of experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning. Senior Environmental Planner
LSA’s Rocklin office is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner with 10 or more years of experience to prepare and/or manage CEQA/NEPA documents and technical sections of CEQA/NEPA documents, other environmental assessments/documents, technical studies, and similar reports in support of the Principal in Charge; responsibilities will include overseeing planning staff. The candidate will be expected to manage development, infrastructure, and/or transportation projects of various sizes and complexities. Experience with Caltrans Local Assistance and oversight/QAQC projects is highly desirable. The candidate needs to demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects and budgets; perform technical analyses; meet deadlines; coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, agency representatives, and other professional team members; and supervise and mentor junior staff. Requirements include a B.S./B.A. in environmental or urban planning; and excellent skills in writing, research, time management, presentation and public speaking; and client development and retention.
LSA's San Luis Obispo office is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant. The candidate must be detailed-oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Responsibilities include but are not limited to: answering phones, data entry, filing, copying and mailing, management of office equipment and office supplies, and general office support. Senior Level Biologist
LSA's San Luis Obispo office is seeking a Senior Level Biologist. Candidates for this position will have at least 5 years of experience with a strong and proven foundation in Central Coast region biological resources and impact assessment. Specific areas of expertise shall include: surveying and impact assessment of proposed projects on local wildlife species and plant communities, sensitive/listed species and their habitats (California red-legged frog, California tiger salamander, San Joaquin kit fox, Morro shoulder-band snail, fairy shrimp and steelhead among others), and all applicable State and federal regulations pertaining to biological resources (Section 404, 401, 1602 etc.). Possession of permits for handling and capturing listed species is also desirable. Expertise is also required in conducting wetlands delineations, resource agency permitting, mitigation plan development, and preparation of biological sections for CEQA and NEPA documents. This is a Project Manager level position with responsibilities for scoping and estimating budgets for the necessary services for prospective project tasks. The appropriate candidate shall be expected to develop new work as well as oversee existing work and biology staff.
