The selected candidate must have a working relationship with the San Diego Natural History Museum and must be recognized by the Museum as a qualified Principal Investigator. The selected individual will work with the LSA team during all project phases with a focus on managing projects with complex regulatory (State and federal) and/or resource issues. The selected candidate will: (1) work with clients and agencies; (2) manage budgets and schedules; (3) direct personnel; (4) oversee field and laboratory work; (5) write reports; and (6) prepare proposals. Richmond office is seeking a part-time Paleontological Technician. There is a possibility that this will become a full-time position. Candidates must have experience in geology, earth sciences, or biology, with an emphasis on paleontology. The technician will work on inventory, research, evaluation, and mitigation projects. Project tasks include research, literature reviews, fossil locality searches, field surveys and excavations, field monitoring, laboratory processing and fossil preparation, data analysis, writing, and report preparation. Candidate will have at a minimum a BA/BS in Paleontology, Geology, Biology or a closely related field; an MA or MS is preferred. Candidate will have experience conducting archival, field, and laboratory research focused on paleontology.
