West Coast Aggregates, Inc., Lexington Quarry LSA provides comprehensive water pollution prevention services to our clients in the construction aggregate industry. LSA is assisting West Coast Aggregates, Inc. to renew the mining permit for their operation near the Lexington Reservoir in Los Gatos, California. The site is located in a very narrow canyon bi-sected by a creek which results in a very compact and tightly arranged site layout. As a result, the site is carefully managed to accommodate the mining activities while protecting water quality. LSA is responsible for the preparation of the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, Storm Water Monitoring Program and Sediment and Erosion Control Plan for this site. Storm water pollution prevention incorporates best management practices, such as erosion and sediment controls, sediment basins and storm water drainage systems. LSA manages a team of consultants including engineers, geotechnical engineers, and hydrologists to ensure that every aspect is addressed to the highest level of expertise of each associated profession. The Lexington Quarry’s confined site conditions requires the team to address local agencies and community concerns regarding surface drainage, possible sediment loading of the down stream reservoir, and potential impacts to wells situated above the quarry.© LSA Associates, Inc.
